My 2023 In Books

Hello all! I haven’t kept up with this blog in a while, and sadly 2023 was truly not my year (Insert Friends themed song) but like the theme song of FRIENDS, books were definitely there for me last year, and I did have a great book-ish year.

My goal was to read 3 books of 400 pages or more, and I read 6.

I ended up reading 26 books. My top 5 books of 2023 were:

5 -  Educated by Tara Westover.

4 - The Wedding Sewing Circle by Jennifer Ryan.

3 - Tomorrow And Tomorrow And Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin.

2 - The Light Pirate by Lilly Brooks- Dalton.

1 - The Collected Regrets of Clover by Mikki Brammer.

Some of the books I read were really not planned. Honestly I am a fiction lover gal and reading 3 memoirs was new for me, but all 3 memoirs were absolutely fantastic.
My goal this year is to read 35 books. The biggest challenge is to read all of my TBR books seating and collecting dust. I will also be writing more reviews and getting back to my old routines. Sometimes we have to accept that not every year is our year, and we have to rise from those not so good moments, accept, and move on with those little things that truly makes us happy.

Happy New Year to all! And do tell me, what were some of your favorite 2023 reads?

Cheers and Ciao to a blessed and bookish 2024!

A little about me.

Hola world! My name is Andrea and I was born in the beautiful country of Colombia. I developed a love for traveling from my abuelita, who is not afraid of a plane ride. I enjoy submerging myself in a good thriller novel, while indulging in uno or dos cafecitos. Cafecito with Drea was born from my addiction to caffeine (yes I admit it) and because writing, reading, and drinking coffee for me make me who I am. Welcome to my blog and I hope I can inspire to get out of your comfort zone, pick up a book or two, live a little louder, and stay wild. Salud!

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue - By: V.E. Schwab.

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’› 5/5 “...it is sad, of course, to forget. But it is a lonely thing, to be forgotten. To remember when no one else does.” V.E. Schwab , The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue Ok I will admit, I have been on a writing slump. Between the election and the time change, my inner clock and anxiety have been a hot mess. But this book.... oh this book was everything that I needed and much more.  So let me dive into this before I lose my mojo again.  ❤️ Who Is Addie?   Addie is a 23 year old woman from a small village outside or Paris. Addie is strong-willed, ambitious, adventurous, curious. Everything that a woman from the 1700’s should not be. Addie has dreams of traveling, meeting people, and not staying in the village to raise kids and just die ( I loved this girl from day one)  When Addie is set up to marry a recent widow, she is unable to accept this faith. In a last desperate attempt, she runs into the darkness and prays to the wrong God. When the...
